This is a hand-forged, fully functional knightly sword — a classic medieval arming sword forged in Nepal from 5160 high-carbon spring steel, full tang, oil-tempered, and sharpened to a true edge. The knightly sword, or arming sword, is the classic single-handed straight sword of the European medieval knight — a double-edged blade with a cruciform cross-guard and a counterweight pommel, carried from roughly the 11th to the 15th centuries. It was the everyday sidearm of the armoured knight, balanced for both cut and thrust. This one is a modern hand-forged interpretation in 5160 spring steel, dressed with a floral scrollwork etch and a sculpted lion-head pommel — the lion being the oldest and most enduring heraldic symbol of courage and kingship in European arms.
