Our Values & Vision — What Everest Forge Stands For

Every business has a product. Not every business has a reason. At Everest Forge, the reason has been clear from the beginning — to build a forge that produces genuinely exceptional hand-forged blades, treats the people who make them with fairness and respect, and delivers an honest experience to every buyer across the world. These are not marketing statements. They are the decisions we make every day in how we run the forge, how we price our work, how we treat our blacksmiths, and how we stand behind what we ship.

Everest Forge — Built on These Values

Heritage-Driven Forging

The art of blade forging in Nepal is centuries old. The techniques used in our forge in Kathmandu today — heating steel by eye, reading the colour of the metal, shaping by hammer and feel rather than by machine — are inherited skills that took generations to develop and are not easily replaced. We believe this tradition is worth preserving — not as a museum piece, but as a living, working craft that produces blades of real quality for real use.

From traditional kukris that carry the heritage of Nepali blacksmithing to historical swords built to collector and martial arts standards — every blade we produce is a continuation of this tradition. To understand what that tradition looks like in practice, read our complete guide on The Making.

Function Over Flash

We do not produce decorative pieces that look like blades. We produce blades. Every sword, kukri, machete, dagger, and spear we forge is functional — built from 5160 high carbon steel, oil tempered by hand, full tang throughout, and tested through real cuts before it ships. If a blade does not perform to our standard in testing, it does not leave our forge.

This commitment to function is not a selling point — it is a baseline. It is the minimum standard we hold ourselves to on every piece, regardless of price point or complexity. A display piece that cannot perform is not something we are willing to put our name on.

Honesty and Transparency

Buying a hand-forged blade from Nepal involves trust. You are ordering something from the other side of the world that does not yet exist, waiting for it to be made, and trusting that it will arrive as described. We take that trust seriously.

This is why we send photos and video of your completed blade before it ships — so you can see exactly what you are receiving before it leaves Kathmandu. It is why we offer a full satisfaction guarantee — if you are not completely happy when your blade arrives, we offer a full refund or free replacement with no conditions. And it is why we provide full DHL Express tracking from the moment of dispatch. For full details on our guarantee, visit our Our Promise page.

Transparency also means being honest about what we are and what we are not. We are a forge — not a factory. We are a small team of skilled blacksmiths in Kathmandu — not a large corporation with a polished customer service department. We respond personally, we care about the outcome of every order, and we stand behind our work because our name is on it.

Global Reach with Local Roots

Our forge is in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our customers are in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, and dozens of other countries. This reach did not happen by accident — it happened because the quality of the work speaks for itself, and because we have built the infrastructure to ship reliably worldwide using DHL Express with full tracking to every destination.

But the roots remain in Kathmandu. Every blade is forged there. Every blacksmith on our team is from there. Every piece that ships carries the character of that place — the Himalayan forging tradition, the materials, the craft, and the people. That is not something that can be replicated anywhere else, and it is not something we would want to move. To meet the people behind the blades, visit our Meet the Maker page.

Fair Treatment of Our Blacksmiths

Everest Forge was built on the work of our blacksmiths. Every blade we sell was made possible by their skill, their experience, and their dedication to a craft that most of them have spent their entire working lives learning. We believe those people deserve to be paid fairly, to work safely, and to benefit from the growth of the business they are building with us.

This belief is behind our Forging the Future initiative — an additional $10 from every order contributed directly toward the education of blacksmith children. It is also behind our commitment to fair wages, safe working conditions, and long-term employment for every member of our forge team. Our blacksmiths are named individuals — not anonymous workers — and they are credited as the makers they are.

Forging the Future — Our Social Commitment

Every Purchase Supports the Families Behind the Blades

An additional $10 from every Everest Forge order goes directly toward the education of our blacksmith children in Kathmandu, Nepal. When you buy a blade, you are part of something larger than a transaction.

Our Vision — Nepali Craftsmanship on the World Stage

Our vision is straightforward — to build Everest Forge into the most trusted source of hand-forged Nepali blades in the world. Not the largest. Not the cheapest. The most trusted. A forge where buyers know exactly what they are getting, know who made it, understand the process behind it, and feel confident that if anything is ever wrong, it will be made right.

We also believe that as Everest Forge grows, the blacksmith communities in Kathmandu who make it possible should grow with it. More orders means more smiths employed, more fair wages paid, more children supported through education, and more of the ancient craft of Nepali blade forging preserved for the next generation.

That is the business we are building — one blade at a time, one order at a time, one family supported at a time. To understand what each order funds, read about our commitment on the Forging the Future page. To understand the complete quality behind every blade, read our guide on Our Craftsmanship.
