After You Order — What Happens Next at Everest Forge

At Everest Forge, every blade we forge — from swords and kukris to machetes, daggers, and spears — is made specifically for you after you place your order. This is not a warehouse. There is no pre-made blade sitting on a shelf. What happens after you order is a real process, carried out by real hands in our forge in Kathmandu, Nepal. Here is exactly what that journey looks like — from the moment you place your order to the moment your blade arrives at your door.

1. You Place Your Order

Your order is placed through the product page on Everest Forge. Before completing your order, you select your customisation preferences directly on the product page below the price — blade length, blade finish, handle material, scabbard, and any personalisation such as a name, initials, or custom engraving. Once your order is submitted, you will receive an order confirmation email with your order number and full details.

2. Order Confirmation

Our forge team in Kathmandu reviews your order within 24 hours of it being placed. You will receive a confirmation that your order has been received and has entered our production queue. If there are any issues with your order details — payment, address, or product availability — our team will contact you at this stage before any work begins.

3. Customization Confirmation

If you requested customisation — a specific blade length, a particular finish, a handle material choice, personalisation, or a special engraving — our team will review and confirm every detail with you before forging begins. You will receive a message confirming exactly what has been noted for your blade. This step ensures that your blade is built precisely to your specification and that nothing is missed before it enters the forge.

If you requested a fully unique blade through our Custom Forge page, this is also the stage where the design consultation takes place — our team will work with you directly to finalise every detail before production starts.

4. Forging

Once all details are confirmed, your blade enters the forge. Your steel billet — most commonly 5160 high carbon leaf spring steel — is heated to forging temperature and shaped by hand by our master blacksmiths in Kathmandu. Every hammer blow is deliberate. Every curve, bevel, and taper is formed by hand. Your blade is then ground, beveled, and heat treated — hardened and tempered to achieve the correct balance of edge retention and flexibility for your specific blade type.

5. Quality Test

Before your blade moves to finishing, it undergoes a thorough quality inspection and functional test. Our smiths check the blade for straightness, edge geometry, spine thickness, handle fit, and finish quality. The blade is tested through controlled cuts on bamboo and hardwood to verify edge performance and structural integrity. A blade that does not meet our standard at this stage does not proceed. It goes back to the forge.

6. Photo and Video Sent to You for Confirmation

This is one of the most important steps in our process — and one that sets Everest Forge apart. Before your blade is finalised and packaged, we send you photos and a short video of your completed blade for your review and approval.

If you requested personalisation — an engraving, a name, initials, a logo, or a custom message — this is the stage where you confirm that the engraving is exactly as requested before the blade ships. If you requested specific customisation, you confirm that every detail matches your order. Only once you are satisfied does the blade move to shipping. This step gives you complete visibility and confidence before your blade leaves Nepal.

7. Shipped and Tracking Updated

Once your blade is approved and packaged, it is dispatched from Kathmandu, Nepal via DHL Express. You will receive an email with your tracking number as soon as the shipment is in transit. You can use this to monitor your delivery in real time on the DHL website. If your shipment is held at customs, our team will assist you with any required documentation at no extra charge. For guidance on import laws in your country, visit our Legal & Import Guide.

8. Delivered to Your Door

Delivery typically takes 7 to 10 business days after dispatch, depending on your destination and customs clearance. Everest Forge ships to the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, and most international destinations. Your blade arrives carefully packaged and ready to use, display, or collect. If for any reason you are not satisfied when your blade arrives, contact us immediately — our satisfaction guarantee means a full refund or replacement is available, no questions asked. Full details are on our Guarantee page.

9. Your Review

Once your blade has arrived, we would love to hear from you. Your feedback matters deeply to us — not just as a measure of the quality of your blade, but as part of how we continue to improve and grow as a forge. A review from a real customer who has held the blade, used it, and experienced the full Everest Forge process from order to delivery is the most valuable thing we can receive. If you are happy with your blade, please take a moment to leave a review on your product page. If you have any concerns, contact us first — we will always work to make things right.
