Personalized Blades — Custom Engraved Swords, Kukri, Machetes & Knives from Everest Forge
Every blade at Everest Forge can be personalized — engraved with your name, initials, military motto, regimental insignia, family crest, meaningful date, or custom logo. Hand-forged in Kathmandu, Nepal from 5160 high carbon spring steel, oil tempered, full tang, and engraved by hand directly onto the blade you order. The personalization does not change the steel, the construction, or the performance — it makes a battle-ready blade unmistakably yours.
To personalize any blade, enter your engraving text or upload your logo on the product page at checkout. Or contact us first to discuss placement, font, or custom artwork. We send an engraving preview for your approval before any work begins on the blade.

Discuss Your Engraving → Custom Forged Blade →What Personalization Means at Everest Forge
Personalization at Everest Forge is not a sticker, a laser-etched decal, or surface-level branding. It is hand-applied engraving on the same hand-forged blade we would ship without it — same 5160 spring steel, same oil temper, same full tang, same handle materials. The engraving is permanent, recessed into the steel, and finished as part of the blade itself. A personalized Everest Forge blade is a working blade with your mark on it — not a decorative replica.
This matters because a personalized blade is almost always a legacy purchase — a retirement gift for a service member, a wedding or anniversary keepsake, a memorial piece, a presentation blade for a martial arts grading, or a one-of-one collector commission. The engraving carries the meaning. The blade has to be worthy of carrying it.

Personalized Swords — Legacy, Military & Ceremonial Engraving
Any sword in our hand-forged sword collection can be personalized — Viking, Roman gladius, medieval longsword, arming sword, Scottish claymore, Japanese katana style, fantasy designs, and custom historical replicas. Common requests include service member names with retirement dates, regimental mottos and unit insignia, family crests for heirloom presentation pieces, wedding dates and couples' initials, and Latin or Sanskrit phrases of personal meaning.
The engraving is typically placed along the ricasso, the central fuller, or near the guard depending on the blade design. We will recommend placement based on the sword you choose and the length of your text. For ceremonial presentation swords, deeper recessed engraving with optional gold or silver fill is available — contact us for ceremonial or presentation specification.
Personalized Kukri — Gurkha Heritage, Regimental & Memorial Engraving
The kukri carries deeper personal meaning than almost any blade in the world — the traditional weapon of the Gurkha regiments, forged for generations by the same families of Nepalese blacksmiths who forge ours today. A personalized kukri from Everest Forge is the most authentic regimental, retirement, or memorial gift available for serving and former Gurkha soldiers, British Brigade of Gurkhas members, Indian Army Gorkha Rifles, and Singapore Police Force Gurkha Contingent personnel — and for civilian collectors who want their kukri marked with a personal motto, family name, or symbol.
Common personalization includes the Gurkha motto "Kaphar Hunu Bhanda Marnu Ramro", regimental crests and battle honours, service numbers and dates of service, and personal names in English, Devanagari, or other scripts. Engraving is typically placed on the cho-side of the blade or along the spine. Bulk regimental orders for unit presentations are welcome — contact us for unit pricing.
Personalized Machetes — Outdoor, Survival & Working Gifts
A personalized machete from our hand-forged machete range is one of the most distinctive working gifts available — for landowners, ranchers, jungle guides, hunters, bushcraft instructors, retired servicemen with overseas postings, and survival school graduates. Engrave a name, ranch or property name, business logo, hunting club crest, or motto onto a working machete that will be carried for decades. The engraving sits flat in the blade and does not interfere with the working edge or the cutting performance.
Personalized Daggers — Ceremonial, Memorial & Collector Engraving
Our hand-forged daggers — Scottish dirks, medieval rondels, Roman pugio, executioner-style and tactical designs — take engraving particularly well due to the broader blade surface and the ceremonial nature of most dagger purchases. Personalization is common for masonic and fraternal presentations, memorial daggers commemorating a loved one, ceremonial gift daggers for groomsmen and best men, and collector pieces marked with the buyer's initials and commission date. Both blade-side and pommel-side engraving are available depending on the dagger.
Personalized Knives — Bushcraft, Hunting & Everyday Carry
Our hand-forged bushcraft and hunting knives can be personalized with names, hunting club crests, dates, kill marks, mottos, and custom artwork. Engraving on a working knife typically sits on the flat of the blade above the edge, where it remains visible without affecting cutting use. Personalized hunting knives are popular as graduation gifts, first-deer commemorations, and father-to-son or grandfather-to-grandson legacy pieces — a working tool with a permanent personal record built into the steel.
Personalized Spears — Ceremonial, Hunting & Display
Our hand-forged spears — boar spears, leaf spears, hunting spears, and ceremonial designs — can be personalized with names, hunting club marks, ceremonial inscriptions, and custom symbols on the blade or socket. Personalized spears are commissioned as boar-hunt commemorative pieces, ceremonial presentation gifts, and display pieces marked with family or estate identification.

Engraving Does Not Compromise the Blade
Every Everest Forge blade is hand-forged from 5160 high carbon spring steel, oil tempered, and built full tang. Engraving sits on the surface of the steel — recessed cleanly without disturbing the heat treatment, the temper, or the structural integrity of the blade. A personalized blade from Everest Forge is identical in performance to a non-personalized one. It will cut, chop, hold an edge, and last as long as any other blade we forge.
This is the key difference between a personalized Everest Forge blade and a personalized factory blade. Factory engraving is often deep laser etching on hardened, brittle, mass-produced stock — which can introduce stress points. Hand-forged spring steel handles engraving without any loss of toughness or edge retention.
Custom Personalized Blades — Beyond Standard Engraving
If your personalization needs go beyond text and logos — a deeper ceremonial inlay, gold or silver fill on engraving, custom handle materials with engraved fittings, or a fully bespoke blade designed and engraved to your specification — our Custom Forge service takes the work end-to-end. Tell us what you want commemorated, who it is for, and what you want the finished blade to look like. Our blacksmiths and engravers will design, forge, and personalize a one-of-one piece to your exact specification.

Can every blade at Everest Forge be personalized?
Yes. Every sword, kukri, machete, dagger, knife, and spear in our range can be engraved with your custom text, logo, or symbol.
How do I order a personalized blade?
Choose the blade you want, enter your engraving text or upload your logo on the product page, and place your order. We send a digital preview for your approval before engraving begins. For bulk or bespoke orders, contact us first.
Is there an extra charge for personalization?
Standard text and logo engraving is included at no extra charge. Bespoke artwork, deep ceremonial engraving, gold or silver inlay, and ornamental fittings are quoted separately — contact us for a custom quote.
Do I see a preview before the engraving is done?
Yes. We send a digital engraving preview after your order is placed. The blade is not engraved until you approve the preview.
Can I upload my own logo or artwork?
Yes. Upload your artwork on the product page or email it to us after ordering. High-contrast black-and-white artwork (PNG, JPG, SVG, or PDF) engraves best. Our team will adapt low-resolution or multi-colour artwork where possible.
Where on the blade is the engraving placed?
Common placements are the ricasso (just above the guard), the central blade or fuller, near the tip, or along the spine. Placement depends on the blade and the length of your engraving — we recommend the best option in your preview.
Will engraving weaken the blade?
No. Our blades are hand-forged from 5160 high carbon spring steel and oil tempered. Surface engraving does not affect the heat treatment, the temper, or the structural strength. A personalized Everest Forge blade is fully battle-ready.
Can I order in scripts other than English?
Yes. We engrave in English, Devanagari (for Sanskrit and Nepali), Latin, runic, and other scripts. For non-Latin scripts, please send the exact text in the script you want engraved — we will not transliterate without your confirmation.
How long does a personalized order take?
Personalization adds approximately 5–10 days to the standard production timeline. We confirm exact lead time with your preview.
Can I order personalized blades in bulk for a regiment, school, or business?
Yes. Bulk orders for military regiments, martial arts schools, hunting clubs, masonic lodges, and corporate gifts are welcome. Contact us for bulk pricing and lead times.
Do personalized blades ship worldwide?
Yes. Personalized blades ship from Kathmandu, Nepal via DHL Express with full tracking to most international destinations.
Can I have engraving and a custom-forged blade together?
Yes. Our Custom Forge service builds a fully bespoke blade from scratch, with your engraving designed into the piece from the start.
