This piece takes that curved silhouette and builds an original design on it — a shorter, more dramatically curved blade, a star-form guard, and a bold blue scabbard. It is a collector and cosplay sword in real forged steel rather than a reproduction of a historical type.

Those two are historical. Our scimitar sword is the traditional curved sword of the wider family, and the Ottoman kilij is the specific named Turkish sabre with its cross-guard and eared pommel. Yes. The tang runs the full length of the handle, so there is no rat-tail or glued-in tang to fail. Full-tang construction is what makes the sword strong enough to handle and cut with rather than just display.

The guard is a polished star-form cross-guard with ball-tipped quillons reaching out from the blade. It is the signature feature of this design, giving the hilt a distinctive silhouette while providing hand protection. It is formed and fitted by hand in steel.

The handle is shaped rosewood over a full tang, with a downturned pommel and the polished star-form guard. Each grip is shaped and fitted by hand, so the rosewood grain and colour vary slightly from piece to piece.

Very close, but each piece is individually hand-forged, so small variations in finish, polish, rosewood grain, leather colour, and fitting details occur naturally. Forging marks and slight differences are part of the character of a handmade blade rather than defects.
