Have a knife, sword or kukri/khukuri design you would love to see made for real? Everest Forge turns original blade designs into hand-forged pieces in our Kathmandu workshop, sells them to collectors around the world, and pays you a royalty every time your design sells.

Once your design is accepted, we activate your Everest Forge affiliate account, so you can follow your earnings from your own account. No forge, no tools and no upfront cost needed. Just your idea.

You do not need to be a bladesmith. If you can show us a blade clearly, we can forge it. The program is made for:

How It Works

  1. Submit your designSend a sketch, drawing, CAD file or reference photos, with the main measurements and how the blade should be used.
  2. We review it togetherOur team checks that it can be hand-forged well, and may suggest small changes for balance, strength or safety. Your design stays yours.
  3. We sign a designer agreementWe agree your fixed royalty percentage in a simple written agreement, so you know exactly what you earn from every sale of your design.
  4. Your affiliate account is activatedWe activate your Everest Forge affiliate account. This is where your design earnings are recorded, and where you can see your balance and request payouts.
  5. Our smiths forge the prototypeMaster smiths in Kathmandu forge, grind, heat-treat and finish the first piece, and send you photos for approval.
  6. Your blade goes on saleWe photograph it, write the product page, credit you as the designer and sell it worldwide. Every new order is forged on demand.
  7. You earn on every saleEach time a customer buys your design, your royalty is added to your affiliate account. Request a payout by PayPal or Bank/Wise transfer from My Account. We handle production, packaging, shipping and customer service.

What to Include in Your Submission

  • A clear sketch, drawing or CAD file (front and side if possible)
  • Overall length, blade length and handle length
  • Blade shape, edge type and any fuller or spine details
  • Preferred handle material and guard or bolster style
  • Intended use: display, collecting, cutting, outdoor or kitchen
  • Any reference photos or inspiration

Royalties, Credit and Your Design

How royalties work: your royalty is a fixed percentage of each sale of your design, set in your designer agreement before the design is listed. There are no surprises.

Your affiliate account: when your design is accepted, we activate your Everest Forge affiliate account. Your royalties are recorded there, you can see your earnings in My Account, and you request payouts by PayPal or Bank/Wise transfer. You can also share your own affiliate link to earn commission on other orders you send us.

Designer credit: your name appears as the designer on the product page, and we feature new designs and their designers on our social channels.

Original work only: we accept designs that you created and have the right to share. We cannot produce copies of another maker's design or official licensed products.

Designer Program FAQ

Do I need to be a bladesmith or have my own workshop?

No. You only need the design. Our smiths in Kathmandu handle forging, heat treatment, finishing and every stage of production.

Does it cost anything to submit a design?

No. There is no fee to submit a design and no upfront cost to join the designer program.

How much will I earn from my blade design?

You earn a fixed royalty percentage on every piece of your design that sells. The percentage is set in your designer agreement before your design is listed.

How do I get paid for my design?

When your design is accepted, we activate your Everest Forge affiliate account. Your royalties are added there, you can see your balance in My Account, and you request a payout by PayPal or Bank/Wise transfer.

What file formats can I send?

Hand sketches, scanned drawings, photos of a model, PDF, or CAD and 3D files all work. Clear measurements matter more than the format.

Will my name be shown on the product?

Yes. You are credited as the designer on the product page, and new designs are featured on our social channels.

Can I design a kukri/khukuri or a fantasy sword?

Yes. We forge traditional and modern kukri/khukuri, swords, fantasy blades, knives, daggers, machetes, axes and spears. Designs must be your own original work.

I just want one blade made to my design for myself. Is that this program?

No, for a one-off personal blade use our Custom Forge service instead. The designer program is for designs you want us to sell, earning you royalties.
