PANABAS MACHETE – Hand-Forged Jungle Blade | Everest Forge
Description:
Inspired by the traditional Panabas of the Philippines, this powerful jungle machete embodies centuries of craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Once wielded by the Moro warriors for clearing terrain and as a symbol of authority, the Panabas was known for its intimidating forward-curved blade—perfect for delivering powerful chopping blows.
At Everest Forge, we've reimagined this legendary tool through the lens of Nepali blacksmithing tradition. Each machete is hand-forged in Nepal from rugged 5160 high carbon leaf spring steel, reclaimed from truck suspension systems. This steel is revered for its strength, impact resistance, and ability to hold a sharp edge under heavy use.
The blade is water-tempered to balance hardness and flexibility, and the full tang construction ensures durability under stress. The 12-inch rosewood handle offers an ergonomic, secure grip, making this blade ideal for jungle, farm, bushcraft, or survival use.
