Altair Ibn-La'Ahad — Master Assassin of Masyaf

Altair Ibn-La'Ahad ("son of none") is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed (2007), the founding game of Ubisoft's blockbuster franchise. Set during the Third Crusade in the Holy Land of 1191, the game follows Altair as he rises from disgraced Master Assassin to Mentor of the Levantine Brotherhood, hunting nine Templar conspirators across the cities of Acre, Damascus, and Jerusalem. Care and Maintenance

After every use: Wipe the blade clean and dry. Apply a thin coat of light oil (mineral oil, camellia oil, or 3-in-1 oil).

Storage: Store in a dry environment. Avoid long-term storage in the leather scabbard. Display stand or wall mount recommended.

Rust spots: Light surface rust is normal on 5160 carbon steel and easily removed with very fine steel wool (#0000 grade) and a few drops of oil.

Sharpening: Use a quality whetstone (1000-grit working) at 22 to 25 degrees per side. Avoid power grinders, which can ruin the temper.
