The Horn of Gondor is a fantasy-style short sword inspired by the heroic blades of Boromir and the defenders of Gondor from the legendary cinematic saga. Where our Steward of Gondor wears bright brass and red leather, the Horn of Gondor takes the darker path — a compact, purposeful blade dressed in natural horn and blackened iron, evoking a weapon carried through long campaigns rather than paraded in a throne room. It is named for the great Horn of Gondor that Boromir carries, a symbol of the call to arms and the duty of the House of Stewards.

This Everest Forge sword is hand-forged in our Kathmandu workshop from 5160 high carbon leaf spring steel and oil-tempered for strength and resilience, with a full tang running the depth of the handle. The 22-inch double-edged blade carries a central ridge and clean bevels, the down-swept crossguard and pommel are turned from iron for a sombre, historical weight, and the grip is shaped from polished natural horn. The black leather scabbard completes a piece that reads as a working sidearm of Gondor.

Care & Maintenance

Oil the blade regularly. 5160 carbon steel will surface-rust if neglected. Wipe the blade with mineral oil, gun oil, or food-grade camellia oil after handling and periodically during storage.

Care for the horn and iron. Keep the polished horn grip out of prolonged damp and direct sun, and wipe it occasionally with a little mineral oil to keep it from drying. Iron fittings can spot or patina over time; keep them dry and lightly oiled, and a gentle polish restores the finish.

Care for the leather. Condition the black leather scabbard with leather balm or beeswax every few months to prevent drying and cracking.

Respect the edge. This is a sharpened live blade. Handle, draw and sheathe it with care, keep it away from children, and use it only for its intended display, collection and controlled purposes.
