The Custom Viking Sword is a hand-forged blade inspired by the functional swords carried by Norse warriors during the Viking Age. Designed with balanced proportions and a wide cutting edge, this sword reflects the practical, no-nonsense approach of Viking weaponry—built for reliability, control, and decisive strikes.

The 22-inch blade features a clearly defined central fuller, a traditional element used to reduce weight while maintaining strength and stiffness along the spine. Forged from high carbon steel and properly tempered, the blade delivers solid edge presence and durability, suitable for collection, display, reenactment, and controlled functional handling where permitted.

The handle is constructed with a full tang core and fitted with rosewood scales wrapped in leather for comfort and grip security. The 6.5-inch handle length provides confident control, allowing the sword to sit naturally in hand while maintaining proper balance between blade and grip.

Historical Background

Viking swords were among the most valued possessions of Norse warriors between the 8th and 11th centuries. Unlike later medieval swords, Viking blades emphasized cutting power and balance rather than complex guards or heavy pommels. Many featured wide blades with fullers, allowing them to deliver powerful slashing cuts while remaining agile in combat.

These swords were often passed down through generations and named by their owners, symbolizing honor, lineage, and warrior identity. Simplicity, reliability, and effectiveness defined Viking sword design—qualities reflected in this custom-forged interpretation.
