This custom Gladius Hispaniensis is hand forged for Christofer based on his selected Roman-inspired reference designs. The blade shape, decorated guard, pommel, and grip detailing follow the 908 reference, while the grip profile is shaped in the secure angular style shown in the 805 reference to help prevent the sword from turning in the hand.
Forged from 5160 high carbon steel, this Gladius features a polished 24-inch blade with a 6 mm spine. It is built with a full tang construction, an 8-inch horn handle, and decorated iron guard and pommel components.
The sword includes a leather-covered wooden Roman-style scabbard inspired by the supplied reference image. The scabbard will feature decorative metal fittings and a detailed chape for a complete historical presentation.
