Chainpure Farmer Khukuri | Hand-Forged Traditional Working Kukri from Nepal

The Chainpure Farmer Khukuri, also known as the Village Kukri, is a time-honored tool originating from the historic Chainpur region in Eastern Nepal—home of some of the most iconic working khukuris in the country. Revered for its lightness, speed, and cutting power, this version is hand-forged for real-world use in farming, bushcraft, and jungle survival.

This model features a 10-inch blade crafted from 5160 high-carbon spring steel (sourced from reclaimed truck leaf springs). Unpolished for a raw, rustic look, it delivers exceptional performance in chopping, slashing, and clearing tasks. The updated full tang design replaces the traditional rat-tail tang, offering a modern construction for added strength. A single rivet runs through the rosewood handle, providing a secure grip during heavy-duty fieldwork.

What is a Chainpure Khukuri?

The Chainpure khukuri (also spelled Chainpur kukri) hails from Chainpur, a village in East Nepal known for its early blacksmithing traditions. These khukuris are known for their straight spine, flat tang construction, and distinctive handle design. Originally rat-tail tang and village-forged, our version modernizes this blade with a full tang and better ergonomics for durability without compromising on heritage.

Ideal for farmers, hunters, bushcrafters, and survivalists, this kukri is a real working blade—not a decorative piece. Whether chopping wood, skinning animals, or clearing trails, the Chainpure Kukri is built to last generations.
