Underneath every combination is the same blade: 10 inches of hand-forged 5160 spring steel with a strong drop-point profile, on a full tang with the scales pinned through a 5.5-inch grip, carried in a hand-stitched leather scabbard. At 15.5 inches overall and 651 grams it is the smallest and lightest knife in our Rambo range — our unofficial tribute to the compact blade from Rambo: Last Blood (2019), known among collectors as the Heartstopper.

The Knife from Last Blood
For four films the Rambo knives grew. The 1982 blade was a survival knife; by 2008 it had become a 13-inch cleaver. In 2019 Gil Hibben, who designed every Rambo knife from the third film onward, reversed the trend and drew something much smaller: a compact, plain, brutally direct combat blade with no sawback, no hollow handle and nothing decorative about it. Collectors call it the Heartstopper, a nickname from the fan community rather than a title from the film.
It is the most modern-looking blade in the series and the least cinematic, and that is exactly why some buyers prefer it. Our blog covers the history of the Rambo knife across all five films.
The One You Can Actually Carry
Size is the whole argument for this knife. At 10 inches of blade and 651 grams it is roughly two-thirds the weight of our Rambo III builder and far lighter than the 17-inch Part II. It rides on a belt without announcing itself, it fits a standard knife stand, and it is the easiest blade in the range to ship into countries that take a dim view of large fixed blades.
What it gives up is presence. A 10-inch knife does not fill a wall the way a 17-inch Bowie does. If display is the point, the bigger blades win; if you want a Rambo knife that gets used, this is the one. Knife laws differ by country, state and sometimes city, so check your own rules on owning and carrying before you order.
Which Blade Finish Suits It?
Handle and Fittings
Rosewood is our standard: dense, dark and stable, and the closest to the film knife. Whitewood is pale and contrasts strongly with a black coated blade. Buffalo horn is glossy black and takes a deep polish, though it is the least forgiving of very dry heated rooms. All three are pinned through the same full tang, which is what a knife this compact needs: on a short grip, every load goes straight through the blade-to-handle join.
The fittings come in black iron, which disappears against a black coated blade and gives the most tactical build; bright iron, the plain steel look; brass, warm gold; and copper, warmer still and quickest to darken with handling.
Engraving: Your Words, on the Blade or the Scabbard
This build carries a personalisation field. Type a name, initials, a unit, a service number, dates or a short line, and it is engraved before the knife ships. You can also upload a crest, an insignia, a logo or a photograph for us to reproduce.
Then choose the placement. On the blade is read every time the knife is drawn, though the flat here is smaller than on our larger Bowies, so keep the text short and the artwork simple. On the scabbard leaves the steel plain and suits a longer inscription or a detailed crest. Choose No for an unmarked build. The preview shows the placement before you order.

An Honest Note on This Knife
An honest note. Three things worth saying plainly. First, this is an unofficial tribute, not a licensed replica and not a measured copy of the film knife; licensed reproductions exist, and if signed and serialised authenticity is what you are after, buy one of those instead. Second, compact does not mean legal everywhere. Fixed-blade rules vary by country and by region, and a knife you may own may still be illegal to carry in public where you live — check before you order, and never treat this page as legal advice. Third, 5160 is not stainless. It will surface-rust if left wet or stored in a damp scabbard; wipe it dry, keep a light film of oil on it, and it will outlast you.

How Your Order Is Made
Caring for Your Knife
Wipe the blade dry after use and after handling, and keep a light film of oil on it; mineral, machine or food-grade camellia oil all work. A knife this size is quick to maintain, which is part of the appeal. Do not store it in the scabbard for long periods, because leather holds moisture against steel. Condition the scabbard with leather balm every few months, and give a timber or horn grip a little oil once or twice a year. Touch the edge up on a medium stone at the angle it came with rather than reprofiling it.
Shipping, Returns and Warranty
Every piece is prepared at the forge in seven to ten days, and shipping adds a further seven to ten days. Orders to the USA and Canada travel with FedEx; everywhere else ships on a DDP service, which means duties and taxes are settled before the parcel moves so there is nothing to pay on delivery. Every piece carries the Everest Forge manufacturer warranty against defects in forging and heat treatment. Because a configured and engraved knife is made to your specification, it falls outside our standard returns window except where the blade is faulty — full terms are on our shipping and returns page. Questions About This Knife
Is this an officially licensed Rambo V replica?
No. It is an unofficial, hand-forged tribute inspired by the compact combat blade from Rambo: Last Blood (2019). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by the film's rights holders, Sylvester Stallone, Gil Hibben, Hibben Knives or any licensed knifemaker. Licensed reproductions exist, often signed and serialised, and are the right purchase if authentication matters to you. Ours is a hand-forged working knife in the same design language, built to your specification.
Why is it called the Heartstopper?
It is a nickname that came out of the collector community after the 2019 film rather than a name used in the film itself. It stuck because the blade is blunt and direct in its on-screen use, and because "Rambo V knife" is a dull thing to call a knife. We use the nickname where it helps people find the page, not as a claim about the film.
Who designed the original?
Gil Hibben, the American knifemaker who designed every Rambo knife from the third film onward, after Jimmy Lile designed the first two. The Last Blood knife was his final one for the series and the smallest, reversing four films of escalating size. Our Rambo knife history covers the whole sequence.
How does it compare with your other Rambo builders?
By size, mostly. This one is 15.5 inches overall and 651 grams. Our Rambo III builder is 18 inches and 929 grams with a broad 12-inch Bowie blade, and our Part II builder is 17 inches and 950 grams with a leather-wrapped grip. The III and the Part II are display knives you can use; this one is a using knife you can display.
Can I carry it?
That depends entirely on where you live, and we cannot answer it for you. Fixed-blade rules vary by country, state and sometimes city, and owning a knife and carrying it in public are two separate questions in most legal systems. What we can say is that this is the smallest blade in our Rambo range, which makes it the least likely to fall foul of a length limit. Check your local rules before ordering.
Which handle should I choose?

Buffalo horn is glossy and striking, but can develop fine checks over years in very dry heated rooms. All three sit on the same full tang, so the choice is about look and feel rather than strength.
Can I get the black tactical look?
Yes, and without going to custom forge: choose the black coated blade finish and black iron fittings, with a black scabbard. That combination is the most tactical build available here and the closest to the modern look of the film knife. The preview shows it before you order.
What can I have engraved, and where?
Text typed into the personalisation field — a name, initials, a unit, dates, a short line — or a logo, crest, insignia or photograph uploaded as a file. Then choose the blade or the scabbard. The blade flat on a 10-inch knife is smaller than on our larger Bowies, so short text and simple artwork sit best there; longer inscriptions and detailed crests work better on the scabbard.
Is it a real working knife?
Yes. Full tang, forged 5160, hardened and tempered, and sharpened before it ships. The compact size and strong point suit field work, camp tasks and general cutting. It is not a chopper — for splitting and limbing, our larger Rambo blades or a kukri/khukuri will do far more for you.
Can I get a blunt version?
Yes. For cosplay, stage use or countries that restrict sharpened blades, add "Stage combat build — rebated edge, rounded tip." in the order note and we will build it that way; our stage combat standard explains what changes. Do not blunt a sharpened knife yourself.
Will 5160 steel rust?
Yes, if you let it. 5160 is a high-carbon spring steel, not stainless, and that is a deliberate trade: it is far tougher than the stainless used in most film replicas, at the cost of needing care. Wipe it dry, keep a light film of oil on it and do not leave it in the scabbard for months. Black coated and acid wash reduce the upkeep.
Can I order a different blade length?
Not in this configurator, which keeps the blade at 10 inches. A shorter build is easier still to carry and a longer one moves toward the Rambo III proportions; either can be quoted through our custom forge service.
