One Belt. Two Blades. Built for the Field.
The Predator Sword is a hand-forged tactical survival set — a 14-inch combat short sword and a 4.5-inch utility companion knife, both forged from the same steel by the same smith, sharing a single leather scabbard. Where most "Predator sword" replicas on the market are single blades sold alone, this is a 2-piece working kit: the heavy blade for chopping, splitting, and clearing, and the small companion knife for skinning, carving, and detail work.
Forged in Kathmandu, Nepal from 5160 high-carbon spring steel — the same steel used in our battle-ready historical swords — the Predator Sword is full-tang, water-tempered, and built to a documented Rockwell hardness profile (Spine 22–25 RC, Belly 45–46 RC, Edge 58–60 RC). The 5.5-inch rosewood handle is fitted with a steel guard. The natural-leather scabbard carries both blades together, ready for a belt.
The Predator Sword vs. The Competition
If you've researched hand-forged Predator-inspired blades, you've seen three main names. Here's the honest comparison:
- KHHI's "Echo" Predator Khukuri Sword — well-made, fixed spec, around $250+. No companion utility knife. Excellent reputation, but a premium-priced single blade.
- EGKH / GK&CO 14" Predator EUK Machete — comparable to our build, sometimes ships with a small utility blade, basic finish, less customisation.
- Everest Forge Predator Sword + Utility Knife — $164.99 with the companion utility knife included as standard, full Rockwell hardness profile published, customisable across 6 blade lengths (14" to 24"), 8 handle materials, and 6 scabbard colours. Optional engraving and personalisation free with order.
The Predator Sword sits where it does in the market for one reason: we forge to the same standard as the premium names but pass the customisation depth and the companion knife on to you, not to the price.
What You Get — The Two-Blade System
Built around a working principle: a serious field blade does not solve every problem on its own. The Predator Sword answers that with two blades that work together.
- 14-inch tactical sword (main blade) — hand-forged 5160 spring steel, semi-polished tactical profile, full-tang construction. Built for chopping, splitting, brush clearing, batoning firewood, defensive use, or display. The kind of blade you reach for first when the task needs weight.
- 4.5-inch utility knife (companion) — small, sharp, precise. Built for skinning, carving, food prep, fine-detail work, and tasks where the main blade is overkill. Carries in the same scabbard.
- Shared leather scabbard — natural-finish leather, holds both blades together, belt-loop fitted. Designed to be carried, not just displayed.
The set works the way real survival kits work: a heavy blade for force, a small blade for finesse. You don't have to choose between them.
What Makes This Predator Sword Different
Most "Predator sword" replicas on the market are stamped tactical knockoffs. The Everest Forge Predator Sword is built differently:
- 5160 high-carbon spring steel — recycled from truck leaf springs. Tough, flexible, takes a real working edge. Same steel used across our battle-ready historical swords.
- Full-tang construction with steel guard — single continuous piece of steel from tip to pommel, with a steel hand guard at the front of the rosewood handle.
- Documented Rockwell hardness — Spine 22–25 RC for shock absorption, Belly 45–46 RC for body strength, Edge 58–60 RC for edge retention. Most replica makers don't publish these numbers.
- Hand-forged, not stamped — every piece shaped on the anvil by master smiths in Kathmandu. Each blade carries small hand-finished details no machine can replicate.
- Includes 4.5-inch utility companion knife — at no extra cost. Standard with every Predator Sword order.
- Customisable — 6 blade lengths, 8 handle materials, 6 scabbard colours. Plus free engraving.
- Cosplay & convention safe — request a blunted edge in your order notes and the same blade ships convention-ready.

- Custom Logo or Photo Engraving — upload your own image for engraving. Useful for unit insignia, family crests, dedications, or commission gifts.
If you want a Predator Sword built outside these standard options — different blade geometry, brass guard, hand-tooled scabbard detail, full custom forge — the Custom Forge service can build it from your reference image or specification.
Built For
- Survival & bushcraft — chopping, batoning, brush-clearing with the main blade; food prep, carving, fine work with the utility companion. The two-blade kit is what real working bushcraft kits look like.
- Tactical & combat training — full-tang construction and Rockwell 58–60 edge stand up to repeated training cuts. Steel guard protects the hand during heavy use.
- Predator film collectors & tactical-knife enthusiasts — for buyers who searched "Predator sword" or "Predator kukri sword" and want a credible, hand-forged, customisable interpretation rather than a stamped tactical knockoff.
- Hunting & field dressing — main blade for splitting and heavy butchery, companion knife for fine-edge work. The two-blade design is a real-world hunter's kit.
- Display & collection — the dual-blade scabbard, decorative metalwork, and substantial weight read correctly in hand and on the wall.
Cosplay, Conventions & LARP
The Predator Sword is one of the most-requested tactical-themed cosplay props — Predator film cosplay, post-apocalyptic builds, military costumes, and survival-themed character builds all use this profile. Most events require blunt edges for safety and weapon-policy compliance.
You don't need a separate cosplay version. Just add "Blunt edge for cosplay" in the order notes when you check out, and our smiths will ship the blade convention-ready — same forged steel, same full-tang, same companion knife, just rounded edges instead of working ones. Always confirm your specific event's weapon-policy beforehand. If you decide later you want a working edge, any competent sharpener can do it.
Pair with the Predator Collection
The Predator Sword is part of Everest Forge's Predator-inspired collection. Each piece in the collection has its own identity:
- Predator D-Guard Bowie — heavy bowie with a steel knuckle guard, 12"–28" customisable.
- Predator Bowie — standard hand-forged bowie inspired by Billy's jungle knife, without D-guard or companion.
- Predator Movie Knife — black-coated tactical combat knife.
For the full design history of the Predator movie knife, read our blog: Predator Movie Knife — History, Design & Modern Replicas.
Care & Maintenance
5160 spring steel is high-carbon and will rust if neglected. With basic care it will outlive you. After handling, wipe both blades down with a soft cloth, apply a thin coat of mineral or camellia oil, and store in the leather scabbard or on a display stand away from direct humidity. Pay attention to the area inside the steel guard, which can trap moisture. The blades can be re-sharpened by any competent knife sharpener — they do not need a specialist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Predator Sword come with the utility knife included, or is it separate?
The 4.5-inch utility companion knife is included as standard with every Predator Sword order — at no extra cost. Both blades carry together in the same leather scabbard. This is part of what makes the Predator Sword different from competing single-blade replicas (KHHI's Echo, for example, ships as a single sword with no companion).
How does this compare to the KHHI Echo Predator Khukuri Sword?
The KHHI Echo is an excellent blade — a premium kukri-sword hybrid sold around $250+. It ships as a single sword without a companion utility knife and has fixed dimensions. The Everest Forge Predator Sword is $164.99, includes a 4.5-inch utility knife as standard, and offers six blade lengths (14" to 24") and eight handle material options including unique combination handles (Rosewood+Bone, Rosewood+Horn). Both are hand-forged from carbon steel by master Nepalese smiths. The choice comes down to whether you want a single premium blade (Echo) or a customisable 2-piece working kit at a lower price point (Everest Forge).
Is the Predator Sword based on the 1987 film?
The Predator Sword takes its inspiration from the broader Predator film franchise's tactical and survival aesthetic — heavy clip-point combat blades, jungle-utility profiles, and commando-style equipment. The shorter blade and companion utility knife together draw on the same EUK (Extra Utility Knife) tradition used by Nepali kukri makers in their tactical builds for over two decades. It is a faithful interpretation of that lineage, hand-forged in Nepal where these blades originate.
What are the Rockwell hardness numbers and why do they matter?
Rockwell hardness measures how hard a steel is on a standardised scale. The Predator Sword is differentially heat-treated: Spine 22–25 RC (soft, absorbs shock), Belly 45–46 RC (medium, body strength), Edge 58–60 RC (hard, holds an edge). This is the same approach used on traditional kukris and Japanese swords — soft spine to bend rather than break, hard edge to stay sharp. Most replica makers don't publish these numbers because their blades are uniformly heat-treated stamped steel. We publish them because we hand-temper each blade.
Can I use the Predator Sword for cosplay or conventions?
Yes — and you don't need a separate cosplay version. Add "Blunt edge for cosplay" in the order notes at checkout, and we ship the same hand-forged Predator Sword (and companion utility knife) with rounded edges instead of working ones. The blades are convention-ready out of the box. Always confirm your specific event's weapon-policy beforehand. If you decide later you want a working edge, any competent sharpener can do it.
Can the blade length and handle be customised?
Yes. The default is a 14-inch blade with a rosewood handle, but you can choose blade lengths from 14 to 24 inches (six size options) and handles in eight materials including unique combinations like Rosewood+Bone, Rosewood+Horn, and Rosewood+Whitewood. The scabbard colour is customisable across six leather options. Custom personalisation and photo engraving are also available.
How long does the order take to ship?
Standard configurations typically ship within 5 to 10 business days. Heavily customised builds — non-standard blade lengths, combination handle materials, deep engraving, larger 22"–24" sizes — usually take 3 to 5 weeks because each piece is forged to order. Worldwide shipping is via DHL or FedEx with full tracking.
Will the blades rust? How do I look after them?
5160 spring steel is high-carbon and not stainless — it will rust if neglected. With basic care both blades will outlast you. Wipe each blade clean after handling, apply a thin coat of mineral or camellia oil, and store in the leather scabbard or on a display stand. Pay attention to the area inside the steel guard, which can trap moisture. If surface rust appears, it cleans off with fine steel wool.
