Custom Ice-Inspired Greatsword — Hand-Forged Full-Tang Two-Handed Blade

This is a hand-forged, fully functional Ice-inspired greatsword — an original artisan tribute to the ancestral two-handed greatsword of fantasy lore, forged in Nepal from 5160 high-carbon spring steel, full tang, oil-tempered, and sharpened to a true cutting edge. It carries a broad polished blade, a distinctive polished steel guard and pommel, a black leather-wrapped grip built for two hands, and a black leather scabbard with carrying straps. Every sword is made to order in your chosen length, finish, and engraving.

The standard blade is 44 inches on a 13-inch handle, for an overall length around 57 inches — a true greatsword built for reach and presence. The forged 5160 steel and full tang make it a real sword you can handle and display, not a cast wall-hanger. An honest, hand-made interpretation, built in our workshop rather than stamped from a factory line.

An unofficial, fan-made tribute. This is an original handmade collectible inspired by a fictional fantasy greatsword. It is not an official product, not a licensed replica, and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or connected to Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire, HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, George R. R. Martin, or any studio, publisher, or rights holder. All related names and works remain the property of their respective owners. Everest Forge offers this purely as a hand-forged artisan interpretation for collectors.

An honest note. This is a modern, hand-forged interpretation of the historical two-handed greatsword, built as a real, functional blade and a collector's centrepiece. We frame it as the craft object it is rather than as an instrument of harm. What we care about is the steel, the reach, the balance, and the build.

What Is the Ice-Inspired Greatsword?

This is an original, unofficial tribute to a famous ancestral greatsword of fantasy lore: a large, two-handed sword with a long broad blade, an extended leather-wrapped grip, and a steel guard and pommel. A greatsword is the family that includes blades like the claymore and the zweihander. Everest Forge forges this one by hand in 5160 spring steel as a functional, full-tang greatsword — it has the size and presence the design is known for and the build of a real sword. It is not a screen-accurate or licensed replica, but a hand-made interpretation in our own style.

How It Is Made

You set the spec — length, finish, edge, and any engraving you want on the blade.
A smith draws the long blade from a 5160 leaf-spring billet and shapes it by hammer and anvil.
The blade is heat-treated and oil-tempered, then the edge is hand-sharpened to a true cutting edge.
We fit the steel guard, leather-wrapped grip, and pommel, peen the tang, pair the scabbard, and ship worldwide tracked.

Shipping, Returns & Care

Shipping

In-stock specs dispatch within 2 to 3 business days; fully custom builds take roughly 4 to 6 weeks to forge before dispatch. We ship worldwide by DHL or FedEx in 7 to 14 business days, tracked. Because this is a long blade, oversized shipping may apply to some destinations. Import and blade laws vary by country, so please check your local rules before ordering.

Returns & Warranty

Every blade is backed by the Everest Forge warranty against forging and material defects. If something is wrong with your order, we will repair, replace, or refund it. Personalized and custom-engraved blades are made to order, so please confirm your spec carefully before purchase.

Care

Wipe the blade clean and dry after handling, and apply a light coat of oil before storage to protect the high-carbon steel from moisture. Store the scabbard separately in humid climates. With basic care, a 5160 blade will outlast its owner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an official Ice or Game of Thrones sword?

No. This is an original, unofficial, fan-made tribute inspired by a fictional fantasy greatsword. It is not a licensed replica and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire, HBO, Warner Bros. Discovery, George R. R. Martin, or any rights holder. Everest Forge sells it purely as a hand-forged artisan interpretation for collectors.

What is a greatsword?

A greatsword is a large, two-handed sword with a long blade and an extended grip, built to be wielded with both hands for reach and power. It is the family that includes blades like the claymore and the zweihander. This one is a modern, hand-forged interpretation in 5160 spring steel, built as a functional, full-tang sword.

Is this a real, functional sword?

Yes. This is a real, fully functional two-handed greatsword, not a cast display piece. It is hand-forged from 5160 high-carbon spring steel, full tang, oil-tempered, and sharpened to a true cutting edge before it ships. It is built to be handled and cut with, and finished cleanly enough to display as a centrepiece.

What steel is it, and is it oil-tempered?

The blade is forged from 5160 high-carbon spring steel, the same alloy used in heavy-duty truck leaf springs, prized for toughness and edge retention. It is oil-tempered for a hard cutting edge backed by a flexible, shock-absorbent spine.

Is it full tang?

Yes. The tang runs the full length of the handle and is peened over the pommel, so there is no rat-tail or glued-in tang to fail. Full-tang construction is what makes the sword strong enough to handle and cut with rather than just display.

Can I change the blade length?

Yes. The standard blade is 44 inches, and you can order it shorter or longer to your spec. You can also choose the blade finish, the edge, and add engraving. Every sword is forged to the spec you select, so the size is yours to set.

What are the guard and pommel made of?

The guard and pommel are polished steel, fitted to a black leather-wrapped, two-handed grip. The steel furniture suits the scale of a greatsword, and each one is shaped and finished by hand.

Does it come with a scabbard?

Yes. Every sword ships with a black leather scabbard with carrying straps to match the sword. The scabbard protects the blade for storage and display, and it is made by hand to fit the blade size you order.

Can I add a name or engraving?

Yes. You can add a name, initials, or a short message to the blade, and you can upload your own logo or photo for custom engraving. Personalized blades are forged to order, so please confirm the details before you buy.

Is the sword sharpened on arrival?

Yes. Every blade is sharpened to a true cutting edge before it leaves the forge unless you request otherwise. It arrives ready to handle, cut, or display.

Do you ship worldwide, and how long does it take?

Yes. We ship worldwide from Nepal by DHL or FedEx in 7 to 14 business days with tracking. Because this is a long blade, oversized shipping may apply to some destinations. In-stock specs dispatch within 2 to 3 business days; fully custom builds take roughly 4 to 6 weeks to forge first. Import and blade laws vary by country, so please check your local rules before ordering.

How do I care for the carbon steel blade?

Wipe the blade clean and dry after handling, and apply a light coat of oil before storage to keep moisture off the high-carbon steel. Store the scabbard separately in humid climates. With this basic care a 5160 blade will last for generations.

Can I order a fully bespoke version?

Yes. Beyond the options on this page, our Custom Forge service builds blades to your own drawing or specification, including the profile, guard, and fittings. Use the Custom Forge page to send your idea and we will quote it. Lead time is typically 4 to 6 weeks.
