Built to the Lore — Long, Slender, and Agile

Dark Sister was always described in George R.R. Martin's writing as "smaller and more elegant than Blackfyre, with a thinner blade" — built for an agile fighter rather than a battlefield brute. Visenya was famously a swift, precise swordswoman. Daemon Targaryen was a blooded duellist. The blade reflects the wielders.

Our 32-inch blade default holds to that profile: long enough for full reach in a duel, slender enough through the body for thrust-led work, with a tapered point that emphasises piercing precision. The full-tang construction extends the steel through a 13-inch handle wrapped in leather — long enough for a comfortable two-handed grip, balanced enough for one-handed work as a duelling longsword. Care & Maintenance

5160 spring steel is high-carbon and will rust if neglected. With basic care it will outlive you. After handling, wipe the blade down with a soft cloth, apply a thin coat of mineral or camellia oil, and store the sword in its leather scabbard or on a display stand. The leather wrap on the handle should be conditioned periodically with leather conditioner. The blade can be re-sharpened by any competent knife or sword sharpener — it does not need a specialist.
