Butcher Kukri | Heavy-Duty Nepalese Khukuri Inspired by Traditional Dau Knife
The 12-Inch Butcher Kukri is a powerful working blade inspired by Nepal’s traditional butcher’s tool, the "Dau." Designed for heavy-duty tasks, this kukri excels at cutting meat, splitting bones, chopping wood, and clearing brush. Its large curved profile and thick spine make it ideal for butchers, farmers, hunters, and survivalists seeking a real working blade.
Hand-forged from 5160 high-carbon steel (recycled truck spring), the blade is hardened through traditional water-tempering, ensuring excellent edge retention and toughness in the field. The 12-inch blade is highly polished and balanced for forceful strikes and precise slicing. The full tang handle, crafted from premium rosewood and reinforced with rivets, provides a secure, ergonomic grip for extended use.
The kukri includes a handcrafted cottonwood scabbard wrapped in black buffalo leather for safe carry and storage. Whether you’re processing meat, preparing firewood, or trekking in the jungle, this kukri brings reliable performance and authentic Nepalese craftsmanship.

Historical Background
This kukri design originated when a visiting customer saw a Nepali butcher using a Dau and requested a kukri forged in its likeness. The result is a fusion of two powerful blade traditions—the curved butcher’s knife and the iconic khukuri—adapted into a robust tool for meat processing, heavy-duty chopping, and survival utility.
