Kasai Khukuri/Kukri –Traditional Butcher Kukri with Black Blade
The Kasai Khukuri (also spelled Kukri), meaning "butcher’s khukuri" in Nepali, is a heavy-duty working blade forged for serious tasks. Inspired by the traditional Nepali butcher's knife known as the “Dau,” this hand-forged kukri brings together the forceful chopping power of a butcher’s blade and the heritage form of a classic khukuri. Its wide, curved profile, thick spine, and aggressive belly make it a powerhouse for processing meat, chopping bone, cutting firewood, and clearing jungle brush.
The Kasai Kukri is hand-forged in Nepal from 5160 high carbon steel—recycled from truck suspension springs for maximum durability. Unlike polished display blades, this version features a rugged, black-forged finish that protects against corrosion and reflects its raw utilitarian roots. The 12-inch blade is heat-treated through a traditional water-tempering method, ensuring a tough spine, flexible belly, and razor-sharp cutting edge.
The full tang handle is crafted from rich, dark rosewood, shaped for control and secured with heavy-duty steel rivets. It provides a secure, ergonomic grip for extended sessions of butchering, chopping, or outdoor survival work. A traditional wooden scabbard, wrapped in thick black buffalo leather, protects the blade during carry or storage. Whether you're working in a butcher’s yard, trekking through wild terrain, or clearing land, the Kasai Khukuri delivers power, precision, and durability—all forged by hand in the heart of Nepal.
