Dhankute 3-Chirra Yak Horn Kukri/Khukuri – 12 Inch Decorated Heritage Blade
Description
The Dhankute 3-Chirra Yak Horn Kukri is a striking blend of tradition and craftsmanship, rooted in the blacksmithing heritage of Dhankuta, Nepal. This kukri features a 12-inch polished carbon steel blade with three fullers (chirras) that reduce weight while enhancing strength, balance, and cutting efficiency. Traditionally forged for both function and ceremonial use, this blade honors its regional origin with distinct decorative features.
The kukri is fitted with a beautifully shaped yak horn handle with rat-tail tang construction, often decorated with engraved or inlaid details unique to Dhankute-style kukris. The handle not only provides an elegant look but offers a natural grip and long-lasting durability. It comes housed in a traditional leather-covered cottonwood scabbard—a time-honored design used for generations.
The set includes two companion blades: the karda (a small utility knife) and the chakmak (a blunt sharpening steel), completing this functional yet collectible kukri set.
