Chitlange Kukri/Khukuri – Traditional Working Blade with Distinct Curved Spine
The 10-Inch Chitlange Kukri (also spelled Khukuri) is a uniquely styled working blade rooted in Nepalese tradition. Known for its flared belly and slightly curved spine, the Chitlange kukri delivers improved cutting leverage and visual appeal compared to standard designs. Hand-forged in Nepal using traditional methods, this kukri is trusted for daily work—wood chopping, field clearing, and outdoor use.
Forged from 5160 high carbon steel, the semi-polished blade is differentially hardened to maximize edge retention while maintaining resilience at the spine. Its unique Chitlange profile—with a sweeping curve and balanced weight—offers superior control for slashing and heavy-duty chopping. The handle is made from seasoned rosewood and built in the traditional rat-tail tang style, making it lightweight yet functional for extended use.
The scabbard is handmade from wood and wrapped in cotton and buffalo leather, reflecting the utility-driven tradition of Nepal’s rural bladesmiths. This kukri/khukuri also includes two field tools: the Karda for small cutting tasks and the Chakmak for sharpening, keeping your blade field-ready at all times.
