Classic Bhojpure Kukri – 18th Century Reproduction with 14-Inch Polished Blade and Horn Handle
The Classic Bhojpure Kukri is a faithful reproduction of a historic 18th-century variant from Bhojpur, Nepal — a region famed for producing some of the most iconic kukris in history. Forged with care and tradition, this kukri brings back the powerful form used during the Kirat and early Shah dynasties.
This version features a 14-inch polished high carbon steel blade with a wide belly and prominent bevel for heavy chopping tasks. It’s forward-weighted for powerful strikes with minimal effort. The handle is crafted from water buffalo horn, shaped traditionally for a secure and comfortable grip. It’s fitted with a classic black leather sheath made from treated buffalo hide — a finish that mimics the original style used centuries ago.
Hand-forged by skilled Nepalese bladesmiths, this kukri is not just a blade — it’s a piece of living heritage. It’s perfect for collectors, bushcraft enthusiasts, or anyone seeking a traditional working blade with historical value.

Historical Background:
Bhojpure kukris originate from the Bhojpur region in eastern Nepal. These blades have been made for centuries by the blacksmiths of the Maaj Kirat region, even before Nepal's unification. They were the primary weapons of the Kirat people and later recognized for their strength and performance across Nepal.
Theories behind the name "Bhojpur" include its association with a royal victory feast (“Bhoj” means feast) and the “Bhoj Patra” tree that was native to the area. Bhojpur’s natural richness in iron ore and resources made it an ideal forging hub. The kukris from this region were even publicly praised by King Mahendra in 1970 as the finest kukris in Nepal.
